Birdgard Aviation was established in 2005 to meet the growing demand for providing support to airports in relation to wildlife management. Birdgard Aviation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Birdgard Australia who have been providing bird and animal control advice, support and solutions to the grape, horticulture, viticulture and farming industry in Australia and New Zealand for over 12 years.
We specialise in creating wildlife harassment equipment and solutions to manage the bird population on and around airport operational areas.
We are the only company in Australia with an effective hand-held laser bird control device.
Darren Stutchbury has been with the parent company Bird Gard Australia since 1999, and is a founding director of Bird Gard Aviation. Jim has had over ten years hands-on experience in using Bird Gard electronics to repel birds in a variety of situations including, airport runways for the Australian military and mining companies such as BHP, repelling water birds from large toxic tailings dams, industrial buildings, orchards, vineyards, water storages, power lines etc.
Darren has advised and designed bird control systems in Sweden,
New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, USA, India, Egypt, and is currently
liaising with Chinese airport authorities on their bird control
problems.
Chris Pennell a research scientist with Lincoln University (NZ) acts as a consultant to Bird Gard Aviation. Chris is a world leader in researching and developing endophytic grasses which may one day be used at all major airports worldwide as both insects and birds will not eat it. Grass unattractive to wildlife will be a major boost in keeping airport environs a wildlife free zone.
Chris has also done detailed independent scientific trials
using Bird Gard's acoustic and laser devices, proving their
value as a worthwhile wildlife management tool
Andi Flower the founder of Bird Gard Australia, has had more experience over a longer period of time in bird control using acoustics than probably any other person in Australia.
Andi is an ex-advisor to the Minister of Mines and Energy in Papua New Guinea and was extensively involved in some of PNG's most significant mining projects.
Whilst still actively involved in Bird Gard Australia, Andi acts as a consultant to Bird Gard Aviation.
