Starting in the late 80s in our own Lychee orchards that were being decimated by Lorikeets, Flying foxes, Crows, other birds and possums, Bird Gard developed several electronic bird control devices and other products for the Australian u0026#038; New Zealand horticultural industry. We specialise in bird scarers or electronic devices that emit the latest in sonic harassment technology and digital recordings of distressed and alarmed birds, along with the sounds made by their natural predators. These sounds are broadcast through high fidelity weather-resistant speakers and are used to repel most fruit eating birds and flying foxes. Viticulture
There would hardly be a vineyard in Australia or New Zealand which doesn’t suffer losses to birds. The traditional shotgun is not up to the job. Netting is extremely expensive to buy, install, store and maintain. Even if you don’t want to admit that nets are not 100% effective, small birds like Silvereyes or Wax-eyes will fly through them and flocks of Starlings will weigh down nets to feed on the tops and sides as will Crows. Rosellas have even been known to make holes in nets. Virtually all commercially significant pest bird species can now be effectively controlled with our newest high tech frequencies and sounds at a fraction of the cost of netting. While we do not claim 100% effectiveness 100% of the time, many hundreds of vineyards have already had great success with Bird Gard bird scarers as they are a cost effective viticulture bird control tool. Bird Gard specialise in agricultural crop protection. We’ve developed bird control products that are proven to remove pest birds from small u0026#038; large scale agriculture. Where Bird Gard comes into its own is with crops such as rice, vegetables, nuts, fruit and high value seed crops etc. The usual pest birds are Crows, Ducks, Cockatoos, Galahs and Starlings. We’ve developed products specifically for New Zealand seed growers who have huge issues Thrushes and Finches. In the above situations, the 360 degree surround sound devices such as Multi-Blaster, Super Pro X, Bird -X 1, Crop Gard and the most powerful of them all the “Pro Amp” are the devices most often used. Bird Gard has a wide range of Marina u0026#038; Offshore bird scarers and bird control products. Our marine bird control products are used to defend boats, yachts, fish farms, docks, harbours, marinas and other coastal and offshore infrastructure, just about anywhere there is a marine bird problem. Most of our products can be hooked up to a 12V battery so you can use them on boats u0026#038; yachts etc where 240 power isn’t available. From a wildlife management perspective the mining industry is unique, as no other industry has such a diverse range of bird and animal problem scenarios.
